Return to Fairy Tale's Inspiration

The Scottish Brownie

I need an artist who can draw hands and fingers!

My Lady Inspiration’s daughter, who was born deaf, received cochlear implants in 2005 og getur nú heyra. As I started to write about the Scottish Brownie I needed a name for the heroine. I asked my friend and she, in turn, asked her daughter if I could borrow the daughter’s name. Unga konan hét til heiðurs evrópskt Queen og gaf mér leyfi til að nota nafn hennar í sögunum ef stúlkunni í sögunni verður drottning. (Talk about a major condition!)

Fabiola’s first adventure! An evil witch has kidnapped Fabiola’s mother and little sister. Fabiola would have been captured also but the brownie that lived in Fabiola’s kitchen came to the rescue. Fabiola is totally deaf and must rely on the brownie and a new friend as she tries to free her family.

She discovers that her new friend is deaf also, but he has a way of communicating with her – a sign language that he learned in a school. The school’s teacher was a princess – could she be the princess from ‘The Deaf Prince’?

Aside from the bigger problem of finding a publisher – there is a small problem with this story. I need a name for the brownie. The name I used while writing it is in reality the name of a major European company. Since I don’t want a lawsuit I need a new name.

If you have a suggestion for his name would you please send me a message please. Who knows, yours might be the right name for this little hero.

Takk,

Tom
